HUNDREDS of animal lovers enjoyed a free day of fun organised by the Millennium Veterinary Practice in Braintree.
The practice on Millennium Way was opened on Sunday June 10 for residents to get a good look behind the scenes.
Nurse Dot Creighton said: "All the rooms were set up in themes, from diets and flea treatment advice to physiotherapy and surgical operations demonstrations.
"The weather was very kind to us and visitors enjoyed our outside events – charity and local craft stalls, a bouncy castle, face painting and an ice cream van. It had a real family feel to it, many of the visitors spent the whole afternoon with us and it was lovely seeing them sitting out in the sun eating their ice creams.
"Our Braintree's Got Talent Guinea Pig show was a real success, with well over 30 Guinea Pigs being entered for the novelty show."
The day raised £425 for the Retired Greyhound Trust.
