Stockport saw their winless run stretch to eight games after a dull 0-0 draw away at Braintree.

After winning their first two games of the season, the Hatters have lost four and drawn four of the following eight games and slipped down to 19th in the table.

Andy Halls wasted the best chance of the game for the visitors, heading wide from six yards in the eighth minute from Paul Turnbull's centre.

Brad Quinton fired wide from the edge of the area for the home side , who are now winless in four.

Dan Holman had the best sight of goal in the second period, but his weak effort failed to seriously test Lewis King in the Stockport goal.

Holman attempted a spectacular winner in stoppage time, but he couldn't find the target with his effort from 25 yards.
