Reporter Clare Youell met the company's Chris Olley to find out more about the pretty park in Essex.

"YOU can turn your dreams into reality" at Hayes Leisure Park in Battlesbridge.

This might be a bold claim but it looks as if the luxury mobile home company is living up to its promise. It has already won two awards for the excellent services it provides and has a reputation for going that extra mile when looking after its residents.

Anyone can buy a luxury mobile home at Hayes Leisure Park – whether they want it as a permanent retirement home, a holiday home, an investment or to release equity from their current property through the park's Home Exchange Scheme.

And these are no ordinary mobile homes. They are luxury residential homes which come fully furnished with attractive, modern fixtures and fittings.

There are 85 occupied mobile homes at the park and the management team make looking after the residents their number one priority.

With 180 caravan plots on the site too, the staff are kept busy dealing with enquiries and maintenance work for the people who stay there.

Many of the residents are retired and have chosen the relaxed pace of life that the park encourages.

With so many people to look after, the staff at Hayes Leisure Park place a huge importance on their customer service.

"Customer care is a very important aspect of our business," said Chris Olley. "We have a lot of people living on the park and they need to be looked after. It is very important to us that everyone is happy here."

The management team make sure that there is always someone available to speak to customers and the office is open seven days a week to answer questions quickly.

The staff go out of their way to assist residents, even helping them move into their new properties, and showing them around the park. They have even picked up new residents from the train station if they haven't had transport.

Their hard work seems to be paying off too. Their office is bursting with thank you cards from residents.

The park is set along the Burnham Road between South Woodham Ferrers and Wickford.

It is set in 25 acres of landscaped parkland on the banks of the River Crouch. Some of the plots have stunning views from their balconies. Residents are a stone's throw away from beautiful walks along the Crouch and all the activities the river has to offer.

The park also has a swimming pool and clubhouse with regular entertainment, so it's a popular place for the residents to meet and socialise.

Hayes is owned by Leisure Parks UK, which owns 16 luxury parks around the country. Its reputation has even attracted residents from abroad – at one of its other parks, there is a couple from New Zealand who spend six months of the year at home and the other six months in the UK.

Hayes Leisure Park has been entered into the Customer Care and Service category of the Essex Business Excellence Awards.

"Out of all the categories this was the most appropriate for us," Chris said. "Customer care really is at the heart of everything we do. Providing a good service to our customers is important because satisfied customers will do a lot of advertising for us.

"It would be a very proud achievement if we won and we would certainly advertise the fact.

"We would make sure that everyone knew about it."
