A new supermarket opening in Brentwood this month will celebrate its launch with a donation to Saint Francis Hospice.
A representative from Saint Francis Hospice will be the guest of honour when the new Tesco Express store opens on Friday February 8 on Hanging Hill Lane and will be invited to cut a ribbon to declare the new store officially open.
Store manager, James Dowell and his team will present a cheque for £500 as part of its commitment to supporting the local community.
He said: "We are delighted to be able to support Saint Francis Hospice, as they do such wonderful work for the local community. We are really pleased that the hospice is coming to launch the new store and join in the celebrations with us.
"My team and I are looking forward to welcoming our customers into the new store and we hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community."
The doors of the new Tesco Express on Hanging Hill Lane open for the first time at 8am on Friday , with the official opening ceremony and cheque presentation taking place later that morning at 10.30am.
Store opening hours will be seven days a week from 6am until 11pm, and for added convenience the store will have a free cash machine, self-service tills, mobile phone top-up facility, Click and Collect, National Lottery counter, bakery, beers, wines and spirits. Parking is also available to customers at the store.
