Witham Town climbed back up to third place in Ryman League Division One North after a 3-0 win over Maldon & Tiptree.
Town were able to play their first home game of 2014 when the newly-monikered Jammers came to town, and it was the hosts who came out on top.
Lewis Godbold grabbed the opener four minutes before half-time, before Kye Ruel and Danny Emmanuel sealed the win in the second period.
Heybridge Swifts are up to fourth after a narrow 1-0 win over Barkingside.
Chris Bryan scored the only goal with 66 minutes on the clock to seal a win which keeps Swifts well in the promotion hunt.
VCD still lead the way with 54 points from 24 games, Soham are second with 51 from 28, before Witham and Heybridge on 49 points, although Witham have played only 21 games and Swifts 25.
Maldon are ninth, five points further back.
Burnham Ramblers are still 11th after a 4-1 home defeat to AFC Sudbury.

Neil Richmond pulled one back from the spot late on, but Ben Thompson made it 4-1.
