Two men have been arrested after a drugs bust in Thurrock

Essex Police have seized a large quantity of drugs, believed to be herbal cannabis and cocaine, with a street value in excess of £1million.

Two vans were stopped by police in Thurrock, on Friday, February 7 at around 7am on the A13 roundabout at junction 31 of the M25.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of drugs.

Approximately 200 kilos of cannabis and 1.5kgs of cocaine have been recovered in the operation.

Robert Preston, 53, of Great Stony Park, Ongar, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Lee Samways, 23 of Stradbroke Grove, Buckhurst Hill, has also been charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

Both were due to appear before magistrates in Chelmsford on Saturday.

Both men were remanded in custody and will appear at Basildon Crown Court on the week commencing May 5.
